Crisis Intervention
The Manitoulin Crisis Response Program is available to individuals experiencing crisis (an unexpected event, such as a car accident, natural disaster, and job loss), feeling overwhelmed by a long-standing situation, and/ or having difficulty managing the symptoms of his/ her mental illness.
The program is available to assess crisis situations, provide brief intervention and counselling, plan next steps and make referral recommendations to other service providers on behalf of the client. It uses a recovery based approach to assist the client to return to his or her previous level of functioning. The Manitoulin Crisis Response Program is an outreach service of the Health Science North Crisis program.
