Bed-Based Treatment - Substance Use
Homewood’s Addiction Medicine Program (AMP) is a specialty inpatient program focused on treating individuals struggling with substance use and concurrent disorders. The program is divided into three phases: Assessment, withdrawal management, stabilization; Active Treatment; and Recovery Management Planning.
Treatment is overseen by addiction medicine physicians as well as an interdisciplinary team of psychotherapists, nursing professionals, occupational therapists, and recreation therapists. Psychiatric consultation is available. AMP offers specialized content for healthcare professionals and for first responders, military and veterans. Opioid Agonist Therapy is available.
Self-initiated referrals are accepted.
Healthcare provider may be consulted during the intake process.
Admission criteria:
- alcohol and/or drug addiction, including addiction to prescription medications
- mental and physical ability to participate in an intensive treatment program
- ability to relate socially with peers in a therapeutic milieu
- willingness to participate in an abstinence-based program.
