Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
Provides care for individuals who require timely access to psychiatric services, but do not require an emergency department visit. A psychiatrist or Nurse Practitioner provide clinical assessments and a care plan for follow-up or shared care in the community. A Case Worker provides support for system navigation, referral completion etc.
Referral from a physician (family physician, walk-in clinic, emergency department, or specialist) or nurse practitioner.
Referrals are through Ontario Shores Central Intake.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Individuals who are symptomatic and require prompt care but do not need to visit the Emergency Department
Exclusion Criteria:
- Patient is primarily concerned with application for ODSP/insurance/legal proceedings/CAS assessment.
- Patient is seeking assessment for ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Patient has acute medical issues.
- Patient is needing crisis services.
- Patient is seeking an assessment for a therapy animal
