Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
The Developmental Disabilities Service (DDS) program provides psychiatric consultation and treatment for adults with developmental disabilities and mental health needs residing in the hospital's catchment area.
The program's clinical team works collaboratively with community-based teams most commonly located in the patient's place of residence. The provision of psychiatric care is offered on the basis of individual needs, informed consent and/or substitute decision making.
Referrals are accepted from the patient's physician. If the patient does not have a physician, direct referral from the patient or substitute decision maker will be accepted.
Referral forms are available through the program information for each district office. For more information or to receive an intake package please contact your local mental health provider or the core office.
