Program Description

A Community Treatment Order (CTO) is a doctor's order for an individual to receive treatment or care and supervision in the community. Individuals who have difficulty engaging in treatment and meet the appropriate criteria may be considered for a CTO. The CTO Coordinator works with physicians, patients, families and care providers to set-up community treatment plans and process CTOs.

Access Information

Referrals are usually made through an individual's physician.
CTO referrals for patients served by the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre may be directed to the CTO Coordinator at the Royal. CTO referrals for patients served in the general Champlain area may be directed to the CTO Coordinator at The Montfort Hospital.
