Inpatient
A 12-bed unit for children and adolescents struggling with an eating disorder. It provides an inter-professional model of care with a focus on recovery and rehabilitation. There is a pre-admission process, post-discharge support and planning for transition home.
Referrals to this program are accepted from healthcare professionals who are providing care in eating disorders programs throughout Ontario.

Inclusion criteria:
- The client must be between 12 years of age and 17 years of age and the referral must be submitted at least three months prior to their 18th birthday;
- All treatment options for eating disorders available in the client's community have been unable to assist the patient reach recovery;
- The client is unlikely to benefit to a less intensive treatment other than residential care;
- Serious eating disorder symptoms continue after less intensive treatment in the community have been undertaken. i.e. day treatment and outpatients if available in community;
- Referral source is able to commit to recommended follow-up after the teen has completed the Ontario Shores Eating Disorder program;
- Referral source is able to accept or arrange medical transfer should the patient become medically unstable;
- Patient be medically stable, orthostatic vital signs, blood work, and EKG must be stable.
