Counselling and Treatment - Substance Use
The treatment philosophy will employ both harm reduction and abstinence strategies, determined by client need.
Participation in community self-help options will be encouraged but not mandatory. Case management involves coordinating all services received by individuals, reviewing and revising treatment plans at regular intervals, aftercare and follow-up.
Groups that are available to clients include: Disease to Please; Change: attitude, thinking, and behaviour; Pulling Punches (anger and rage management); Misunderstood in Motherhood (guilt and change); and Dealing with Everyday Resentment.
Clients may access the service by self-referral or by referral from other professionals, family members, etc.
This program serves women and their children, clients may bring children to sessions if need be.
