Peer/Self-Help - Mental Health
This program offers opportunities to explore wellness, with groups often offered in topics like meditation, eating well for the mind, wellness, pet therapy, and yarn work. The Recovery/Wellness group provides discussions on wellness topics, or take part in active living, on our walks or by gardening.
Peer support groups exist with a focus on recovery/wellness, and specific groups run for mothers experiencing mental health challenges, francophones, family members supporting loved ones, and those with thoughts of suicide. NISA also offers its members — and the community — the Wellness Recovery Action Plan® course, often called WRAP. During this course you can learn how to unlock mental health recovery by learning more about hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy and finding your support.
