Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
This program is designed for adults who have been identified as having an intellectual disability along with a mental illness or serious mental health concern, such as anxiety disorders, depression, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder. It also serves individuals who may be experiencing long-endured trauma, problematic substance use, disrupted developmental and vocational experiences, and involvement with the criminal justice system.
Our approach is based on a cohesive, interdisciplinary model, where we work closely with a psychiatrist specializing in dual diagnosis and a behavioural therapist. Additionally, we source external specialists as needed and available in the community to address specific needs. Together, the team provides intensive, specialized psychiatric and behavioural support aimed at helping individuals lead meaningful, satisfying lives in their home communities.
By integrating a combination of psychiatric care, behavioural therapy, and collaborative support, our goal is to assist each individual in managing their complex needs while promoting personal growth, stability, and independence.
Referrals can be made by family physicians, community organizations, families, friends or self.
Referral forms can be emailed or faxed to the organization. Once a referral has been received, contact to the referral source will be made within three business days.
