Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
Provides individuals and/or families with healthy coping and stabilization techniques, psycho‐education and a therapeutic environment that will allow them to process unresolved trauma issues.
The program foundation is rooted in Anishinaabe culture, ceremony and land based teachings.
The program is designed to provide support to individuals and/or families prior to treatment, in the treatment orientation phase, treatment phase and after‐care phase. This 3 phase approach will allow the program staff to provide on‐going support to individuals and community care service providers for a period of 6 months.
Program participants are expected to actively participate in all elements of the program.
Referrals are accepted from all sources, including self-referrals.
Referral Process:
1: Fill out Brief Referral Screening Form. This can be located on the website, or it can be faxed or emailed upon request by phone.
2: Once referral form is completed and the client is deemed eligible by the Treatment Team, a pre-treatment orientation meeting will be held for information sharing purposes about the program, and answer questions.
3: The referral source and client/s will complete and submit the Referral Package to the program.
4: Once all referral information is complete, client will be given an Admission Date by the Intake Coordinator.
5: On the day of Admission client will be required to meet with the Treatment Team and engage in group therapy, individual counselling, and cultural programming.
