Program Description

Release from Custody services are part of CMHA's Human Services Justice System Program. Release from Custody provides short term (up to six months) case management services designed to help keep persons with mental illnesses/ mental disorders out of the criminal justice system. Services offered: 1. Release/ discharge planning for individuals at Central North Correctional Centre (CNCC), Penetanguishene, to promote successful community integration; 2. Direct, in-person support for persons out of custody residing in the Home and Community Care Support Services North Simcoe Muskoka Region who may be at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system. Direct support includes service linkage, information, assistance finding affordable housing and help accessing needed services; 3. Telephone support and referrals for those residing outside North Simcoe Muskoka area.
