Family Support - Mental Health

Program Description

Service is for family members and/or caregivers who have a loved one with a mental illness to obtain current information about a particular illness, knowledge about navigating the mental health care system, and coping strategies for dealing with family issues from other family members who have had similar experiences.

A lending library is available with books, magazines, videos, audiotapes and pamphlets, as well as a computer where information and research can be accessed from the Internet. In addition, the centre offers the opportunity to meet with other family members, one on one or in small groups to share experiences and provide peer support.
