Bed-Based Withdrawal Management

Program Description

Individuals are assessed at time of admission for medical/psychiatric stability and risk factors.

Medical consultation provided through Grand River Hospital Emergency Department and individual's family doctors.

Assessment tools administered following the crisis stage and prior to transfer to residential bed. Nurse practitioner on-site.

Access Information

Referrals accepted from self, family, primary care and other organizations. Individuals must be voluntary.

Individuals requiring 24-hour monitoring of withdrawal symptoms.
Must be medically and psychiatrically stable.
Emotional and/or physical violence is not tolerated.
Must bring your own medications with up-to-date instructions/labels.
