Program Description

Mamisarvik Healing Centre provides professional, confidential, non-judgmental recovery and healing services to Inuit men and women. As a branch of Tungasuvvingat Inuit, individuals have access to wrap-around services in the areas of housing, employment, aftercare counselling, parenting, restorative justice and systems navigation.

Services Include:
- Comprehensive, standardized intake and assessments.
- 24-hour staff support.
- Individual and group counselling in the areas of trauma, addiction, Inuit history, anger management, harm reduction, assertiveness, family dynamics, safety planning, self-compassion and family counselling.
- Cultural supports: Elder counselling services, Inuit country food, cultural celebrations, crafts and recreational activities.
- Pre-treatment, continuing care and aftercare support.

Call or email to book an appointment with the intake and assessment counsellor by phone or by email.

GAIN Q3 is preferred but not required. The intake and assessment worker will support individuals with accessing services to have the GAIN Short Screener completed and will help complete the initial Mamisarvik intake package. Individuals who meet the criteria for residential treatment will complete the comprehensive intake and assessment at a follow-up appointment. Individuals must complete a physical exam by a physician and provide the Centre with a health assessment and list of current medications before admittance.
