Bed-Based Treatment - Substance Use
Mamisarvik Healing Centre provides professional, confidential, non-judgmental recovery and healing services to Inuit individuals.
The Mamisarvik bed-based program incorporates a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach with an emphasis on
cultural healing and wellness. Clients experience programming focused on trauma, addiction, Inuit history, anger
management, gender-group discussions, assertiveness and continuing care. Elders offer traditional healing knowledge through weekly workshops. Staff support clients with recreational activities including art therapy, Inuit crafts, life skills, visits
to community centers and recovery support groups.
Anyone can refer, including self.
Call or email to book an appointment with the intake and assessment counsellor by phone or by email.
The intake and assessment worker will support individuals with accessing services to have the GAIN Short Screener completed and will help complete the initial Mamisarvik intake package. Individuals who meet the criteria for residential treatment will complete the comprehensive intake and assessment at a follow-up appointment. Individuals must complete a physical exam by a physician and provide the Centre with a health assessment and list of current medications before admittance.
