Diversion and Court Support - Mental Health
Youth Mental Health Court Services provide supports to young people who have mental health and/or behavioural needs and who are engaged in the youth justice system. Staff work with the courts to ensure appropriate mental health supports are in place to enhance opportunities to divert youth from the formal justice system. These services also reduce barriers of access to mental health and other acute supports which may not have been utilized in the past.
Referrals accepted from all sources. Call to book an appointment with Intake. To be eligible for services, Youth must already be involved in the Youth Justice Systmem. Individuals under the age of 18 under sole custody of one parent are eligible for services. If custody is shared, consent must be obtained from both parties. Youth who are 12 years and older will be seen independently from parents.
