Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
The Ontario Structured Psychotherapy program supports individuals with mild-to-moderate depression, anxiety and anxiety-related conditions by providing publicly funded, short-term support.
These services include guided self-help resources that are supported by a coach or therapist. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and related practices are offered in either one-on-one or group sessions. These sessions can be offered in person or virtually.
Individuals identifying the following issues can be supported:
- depression and low mood
- generalized anxiety and worry
- health anxiety
- obsessive-compulsive concerns
- other anxiety and stress-related problems
- post-traumatic stress
- social anxiety and performance fears
- unexpected panic attacks and agoraphobic fears
Self-referrals or healthcare provider referrals are accepted.
All referrals begin at Health Sciences North as the lead agency and as the central access point for intake. Services are delivered through several partner agencies in sub-regions across the Northeast to keep care closer to home.
