Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic

Program Description

Provides rapid access to quality care to individuals seeking help for their substance use concerns such as opioids, alcohol, cannabis, and cocaine. The clinical team consists of an addiction medicine physician and/or nurse practitioner, nurses, case managers, addictions counsellors and peer support. An Ontario Health Card may be required. Appointments are in person.
Clinicians and nurses create an individual treatment plan for treating individuals struggling with substance use.

They will:
- Assess individual in order to determine psychosocial and withdrawal/craving medical needs;
- Explore options, including the use of safe, effective medication that will help to address withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
- Explore options and strategies, and provide resources to help minimize the risks of intoxication;
- Engage in referral process for psycho social support such as counselling, detox, inpatient and outpatient treatment.

Referrals are accepted from all sources, including self-referrals.
