Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
The Family and Mental Health program provides newcomer individuals, couples, and families experiencing emotional and psychological distress with language-specific (Arabic, Dari, English, Farsi, French, Hindi, Italian, Spanish, Swahili, Tigrigna, Urdu) and culturally responsive in-person or virtual counselling. The program employs a variety of approaches, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, to develop coping strategies, identify strengths, provide resources, and promote healing, resilience, and self-empowerment. The program offers mindful meditation group counselling to overcome anxiety and depression.
