Program Description

Mamisarvik Healing Centre provides professional, confidential, non-judgmental recovery and healing services to Inuit individuals.

The Mamisarvik Day Treatment program incorporates a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach with an emphasis on cultural healing and wellness. Clients attend day-time programming focused on trauma, addiction, Inuit history, anger management, gender-group discussions, assertiveness and continuing care. Elders offer traditional healing knowledge through weekly worshops. Staff support clients with recreational activities including art therapy, Inuit crafts, life skills, visits to community centres and recovery support groups.
