Short-Term Crisis Support Beds

Program Description

Program provides safe accommodations and on-site 24/7 support services as an alternative to hospital admission or detention if they are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, and are subject of a police inquiry.

Services provided by Safe Bed program include: Mental health and substance use support, basic living needs such as food, clothing and personal care items, support rebuilding relationships with family and friends, referrals and linkages to community-based services and supports.

Access Information

Referrals are only accepted through a referral from the Mental Health Crisis Team or police services.

To be eligible, individuals need to be:
-Experiencing a mental health/addiction crisis
-Referred by police, mobile response team or crisis team
-Coherent, medically stable and not at risk of harming themselves or others
