Counselling and Treatment - Substance Use
HART (Homeless and Addiction Recovery Treatment) Transitional Housing is a 12-bed program which offers short-term housing and tailored support plans for individuals experiencing housing loss, with a focus on addiction recovery and housing stability. In this abstinence-based program, participants are required to attend on-site and community-based programming including group and individual addiction support and life skills workshops.
Referrals are accepted from all sources, including self-referrals.

Program Eligibility:
- Must be on the PATHS (Region of Waterloo’s Prioritized Access to Housing Support) list
- 18+ years old and willing to participate in a co-ed program
- In recovery and committed to abstinence from all substances
- Motivated and treatment-oriented (in “Preparation” or “Action” stage of change)
- Capable of or willing to learn basic life skills
- Mental health is stable enough for independent living
- Willing to participate in structured programming and follow guidelines
- Self-ambulate without a wheelchair or walker (building is not accessible)
- Income status that supports ability to pay monthly program fee that is geared to income (shelter allowance plus program fee
