Crisis Intervention

Program Description

Crisis services are provided to individuals in the Emergency Department at Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH). Mental status and risk assessments are conducted on contact with individual to determine need for hospitalization. Whenever possible the crisis worker will divert the individual from hospital care to community services or provide brief counselling to resolve the immediate crisis situation.

Access Information

Individuals are triaged upon presenting at the Emergency Room of Georgian Bay General Hospital in psychiatric crisis.
