Crisis Intervention
A 24-hour service physically located in the Emergency Department. The team provides rapid triage, assessment, management and disposition for the adult mental health patient who required these services while in the Emergency Department. Designed to provide a safe, secure, and integrated environment where these assessments can take place.
Patients experiencing a psychiatric crisis can present at the emergency department requesting assistance. However, to avoid delay, patients should come to the Toronto Western Hospital site of the University Health Network as there are no services at the Toronto General Emergency Department.
