Crisis Intervention

Program Description

Crisis Services is a team of social workers, psychiatric nurses, and mental health workers, who provide high-quality crisis services to all residents of Algoma District who are experiencing a serious illness or are in a crisis.
Service is available either by telephone or face-to-face.

- provide multi-disciplinary assessments of needs
- provide short-term crisis counselling
- provide a referral to community services
- provide support and assistance to return to a pre-crisis level of functioning
- provide telephone and office follow-ups to some clients

Access Information

Individuals can refer themselves or be referred by a family member, friend, physician or any community organization.

Follow-up crisis service is available to children and youth, in partnership with Algoma Family Services.

Office appointments can be pre-booked or drop-in.
