The Ontario Immediate Family Wellness Program provides long-term, compassionate support to families of public safety personnel in Ontario who have died in the line of duty or by suicide.
It offers confidential, client-centered mental health services, including case management, grief and bereavement counselling, and help navigating available supports. Designed to complement immediate crisis services, the program delivers culturally appropriate, trauma-informed care focused on resilience and healing.
The Ontario Immediate Family Wellness Program covers family members of individuals who died in the line of duty or by suicide on or after January 1, 2000. Eligible family members may access the program for up to ten years from their registration date.
Referrals are accepted from all sources, including self-referrals and with consent, referrals from peer support and unions/associations.
