Inpatient
Individuals requiring inpatient care who are experiencing ongoing psychiatric signs and symptoms of one or more diagnoses of disorders
including but not limited to: mood disorder, anxiety disorder, psychotic disorder, trauma-related disorder, and substance-related disorder
Following a comprehensive assessment, a care plan is customized according to the individual's treatment goals and tolerance level. The care plan emphasizes a combination of group psychotherapy, education and skill-building sessions, recreational activities, along with occasional one-to-one sessions. Medical treatments, including medications and electroconvulsive therapy, may be offered.
Self-initiated referrals are accepted.
Target population: long-term mental illness, experiencing ongoing, chronic psychiatric signs and symptoms with or without co-occurring addiction concerns that require inpatient hospitalization.
Exclusion criteria:
- individuals unable to maintain the safety of self or others (treatment occurs on an open unit)
- individuals with a primary diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorder, acquired brain injury, and chronic pain
- individuals who are unwilling to provide supervised urine samples for alcohol and drug screens if deemed appropriate by the treatment team.
