Community Withdrawal Management Services (CWMS) offers an alternative to residential withdrawal management for individuals who can safely withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs in a safe and supportive community environment. This includes assessing substance use and withdrawal needs, referrals to appropriate services and level of care, providing information about withdrawal to the support person, providing education and support during the withdrawal, facilitating the involvement of family physician, minimizing the risk of withdrawal complications. Support after the acute withdrawal experience includes working with the individual to identify and determine their goals and develop a plan of care which may include an assessment and referral to residential treatment.

Day Withdrawal Management Services are provided to assist individuals in the early stages of change/recovery. Services are primarily group based, and include symptom management, skills building, relapse prevention and referral to appropriate community services.

Provides education and support regarding alcohol, drug use and problem gambling to family members who continue to live with or who are connected to an individual who continues to use alcohol or drugs, and problem gambling. The program is also for individuals connected to a person in recovery from using alcohol, drugs or problem gambling.

Provides professional non-medical crisis services and interventions for individuals who are intoxicated, in withdrawal, in crisis related to drugs and/or alcohol and appropriate for non-medical intervention.
