Our group engages youth by creating a fun, non-judgmental and safe environment to explore new ways to see problems and find solutions to life’s challenges. Through activities and group discussions, participants learn new skills and strategies to develop healthier boundaries and grow their understanding, which leads to higher levels of self-esteem and self-worth. The group includes 8 virtual sessions and focuses on topics such as bullying, confidence, healthy relationships, coping skills, assertiveness.

The Brief Therapy services include short-term, goal-oriented counselling (up to 3 sessions) that focuses on addressing immediate concerns and developing practical strategies for change. It is time-limited, collaborative interventions designed to provide timely support to address immediate concerns using a strength-based and solution-focused approach. FSYR’s Virtual Walk-In counselling is also available for those needing immediate or next day single-session support. The service provides flexible and timely access to a Counsellor without needing to book an appointment. The Walk-In is available on a first-come first-served basis, and sessions can range form 15 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the individuals need. The Virtual Walk-In is not a crisis line. Using evidence-informed and culturally responsive approaches, our program is tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. Our staff have specialized and cultural expertise in serving diverse communities, including 2SLGBTTQ+ folks, newcomers, immigrants/refugees and Indigenous communities. Our experienced Counsellors use a range of evidence-informed approaches and provide counselling services in various languages to build coping skills, enhance resilience and achieve meaningful outcomes.

This group is for parents or caregivers of kids who might be transgender, gender non-conforming, or questioning their gender, no matter their age. In this group, parents and caregivers get together to help and support each other, learn new things, and share useful information. It’s a safe space where everyone can talk openly about their experiences with the main goal of the group being to help everyone understand and accept gender diversity.
