Talk-In Clinic provides quick access to trained clinicians, immediate problem-solving, therapeutic conversations and connections to other DCAFS and community services.

Brief Therapy Services focuses on reducing the severity of and/or remedying the emotional, social, behavioural and self-regulation problems of children and youth by providing “quick access” therapeutic encounters to address the immediate or presenting needs of a child or youth.

Age-appropriate counselling and therapy services focusing on younger children ages 0-6 to reduce the severity of, and/or remedy emotional, social, behavioural and self-regulation problems. Counselling and therapy services can include a range of modalities (e.g., individual, group (Circle of Security), family or play-based) as well as clinical practices (e.g., cognitive-behaviour therapy). Services are provided within the context of the family, culture and community.

Family Connection Therapy focuses on reducing the severity of and/or remedying the mental health problems of children and youth that are psychological, emotional, social and behavioural-related. These services differ from counselling and therapy with respect to the intensity of the service needed to meet the child/youth’s identified needs.

Crisis support services are immediate, time-limited services delivered in response to an imminent mental health crisis or an urgent situation as assessed by a mental health professional that places the child/youth or others at serious risk of harm.

GLOW is a weekly social youth group that works to build self-esteem, a sense of connection to community, and pride about diverse sexual and gender identities.

Weekly skills group provides a combination of targeted prevention and caregiver capacity building using effective and evidence-based treatment to reduce some of the more risky behaviours, emotional reactivity, and conflict-based interactions that individuals and families may be struggling with.
