Focus: Substance Abuse
An academic program that gives youth the opportunity to work towards secondary school credits with a Toronto District School Board teacher following the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum. The program includes daily treatment groups, life skills instructions, ongoing access to healthcare, individual counselling and support.
Focus: Mental Health
A team of intake specialists and senior clinicians who review and triage referrals to determine if the services provided through the Department of Psychiatry are the best option for the child and their family. They monitor and maintain all referrals to Psychiatry to ensure that cases are served in the best way and place possible.
In cases where a referral is deemed not appropriate for service at SickKids, the MHAP team will provide families and referring physicians with alternative service options that may be more suitable.
Focus: Substance Abuse
Outpatient assessment treatment and management of youth up to 18, who are either using or at risk for misusing alcohol or other drugs. Parents and siblings may also receive support. Outreach, teaching and research components, with harm-reduction, open-ended format complimenting treatment.
Focus: Mental Health
This program serves children and youth presenting with mental health concerns. A direct, one-time consultation with a mental health specialist that can help to provide diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations, medication review, assist in managing safety risk, etc.
Consultations are offered via video conferencing (OTN / Zoom Healthcare).

The clinic offers comprehensive psychiatric assessments, short-term treatment, and follow-up for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs, including treatment-resistant ADHD, anxiety disorders, selective mutism, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and depression. The clinic also supports the management of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents who also have significant physical health disorders, including somatic symptom and related disorders.

CareConsult for Youth Substance Use is a program that provides professional-to-professional virtual consultation services free of charge for health care professionals (HCPs) working with youth up to 25 years of age who have substance use health needs or substance use disorders.
The program provides guidance for evidence-based best practices for the identification, assessment, and treatment planning for youth with substance use and related physical/mental health issues. This program provides services from a harm reduction, trauma and developmentally informed, and youth-centred perspective.
This service will offer:
- Guidance on non-urgent clinical questions about a specific patient
- Guidance on resources for a specific patient
- Non-judgmental mentorship and empowerment for Health Care Professionals
Focus: Mental Health
Treatment for children and adolescents with a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder or an Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. Treatment can include psychiatric care, ongoing medical care to prevent complications caused by the eating disorder, group therapy, family therapy, individual therapy and advice about healthy eating.
