Provides psychiatric consultation for older adults who reside in the community. A psychiatrist at Baycrest Hospital completes a psychiatric assessment and makes treatment recommendations, and, in some instances, time-limited follow up. Psychiatric treatments including pharmacological management and psychotherapy; individual and family treatment.

The Geriatric Psychiatry Community Service is a community outreach program offering mental health services to older adults who are unable to access the onsite Ambulatory Mental Health Clinic or who require case management. Key services include: - Psychiatric consultation and assessment by a Baycrest Hospital psychiatrist, in collaboration with clinical case managers - Treatment recommendations with time-limited follow-up, including support and advocacy for the best possible services for both clients and families - Referrals to other Baycrest services and community programs - Psychiatric treatment, including medication management, supportive counseling, caregiver education, and access to community resources - This program primarily serves homebound individuals or those requiring case management services.

Provides care, support and education to clients who may have a diagnosis of, or suspected diagnosis of, depression, bipolar mood disorders, mood disorders associated with other brain disorders, complicated bereavement or anxiety. Provides support to families of our clients through education and counselling.

A 20-bed unit that provides assessment and treatment for older people experiencing a wide range of psychiatric disorders. This is a short stay program. Also provides ECT and peer support.

An outpatient service adults over the age of 65 with complex medical and psychosocial issues such as depression, anxiety and other mental health illnesses. The interprofessional services include: - Comprehensive assessment and diagnosis, - Treatment options, including medication management and non- pharmacological approaches (e.g. psychotherapy, relaxation and breathing techniques) - Problem solving therapy and goal setting - Group-based counselling and therapy - Group interventions, activities and exercises
