Ka-Na-Chi-Hih is a 6-bed, 7-week bed-based treatment program for individuals with polysubstance use and/or mental health challenges. The program serves First Nations, rotating male and female intakes, regardless of gender identity, from across Canada. The programming is holistic as we follow the medicine wheel as a guide in achieving physical, mental, social, and spiritual goals and needs. The program incorporates traditional modes of practice during the 7-week stay, elders attend the lodge to provide knowledge, skills, and teachings. Some common examples of traditional programming include drum making, ribbon skirt/dress shirt making, smudges, sharing circles, sweat lodges, and much more. Management and staff are all trained to follow a strengths-based, trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach while being a mentor to participants. This means helping the residents to understand their internal and external strengths, safe decision-making that creates a healthy and safe environment, and adapting the healing lodge rules to be flexible to residents’ traumas and needs while they heal during their 7-week stay.

Pelican High Peak Family Healing Lodge is a live-in service for Indigenous families with a youth family member currently going through active recovery of substance use and/or mental health issues. The program assists in strengthening relationships with immediate family members and supports families through the family reunification process. The program focuses on healing through culture and land-based healing. Teaching surrounding the 7 grandfathers, medicine wheel, medicines and the drum are paramount in helping youth begin to see things through a traditional lens. Over the course of the program we focus on purpose, hope, meaning and belonging. The program can accommodate one family at a time, with a maximum of 10 family members.

Wakenagun Youth Healing Lodge is a live-in service for Indigenous youth with substance use and/or mental health issues. The program focuses on healing through culture and land-based healing. Teaching surrounding the 7 grandfathers, medicine wheel, medicines and the drum are paramount in helping youth begin to see things through a traditional lens. Over the course of the program, focus is placed on the body (stabilization), the mind (education), the emotions (healing), and the spirit (transition). The program cycles between all-male gendered cohorts, all-female gendered cohorts and two spirit and transgender program cohorts. Applicants may choose which gendered cohort they would prefer.
