Individuals who attend this clinic can access both mental health and substance use services free of charge.
This is not a crisis service.
Focus: Substance Abuse
The Needle Exchange Program provides the following to those who choose to use drugs intravenously and are at risk of transmitting HIV, Hepatitis and other blood borne infections:
- needles and other harm reduction items, including sharps containers
- needle disposal
- inhalation and crystal meth kits
- naloxone kits
- condoms
- health information
- referrals
Focus: Mental Health
The Crisis Intervention program is offered on-site at the West Nipissing General Hospital to individuals experiencing a crisis.
The program includes assessment, crisis counselling, and referral to appropriate resources as required.

Services are offered to individuals living with a serious and persistent mental illness. Presenting problems vary and frequently include suicidal ideation, and various social adjustment issues.
The program offers psychotherapy and counselling services to decrease the number of psychiatric hospitalizations and emergency room visits. Certain individuals may present with serious mental illness but do not require long-term intensive community intervention.
Services are individually tailored and focus on assisting clients to identify and reduce symptoms of distress, increase ability to manage symptoms of illness, reduction in self-harm. We offer psychoeducational and therapeutic group sessions on various topics. Treatment plans are individually tailored to support a community based recovery model.

Case management services are offered to individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness.
Outreach services encourage independent living with a supportive counselling approach. Individuals of the service are offered a wide range of services including advocacy, monitoring of symptoms, education, empowerment, life skills, community re-integrations, housing support and referrals and support in accessing other community services. We offer educational group sessions on various topics. Treatment plans are individually tailored to support a community based recovery model.

Assessments and treatment models are utilized based on individual's needs.
These may include relapse prevention, guided self-change, harm reduction approach, etc. Outreach services are offered. We offer educational group sessions on various topics.
Community treatment includes counselling services for individuals.
Focus: Substance Abuse
The Addiction Medicine Clinic is for people looking for help with their substance use, such as opioids, alcohol and additional use of other drugs (this is assessed at initial contact).
Addiction Medicine Clinic offers fast access to medication assisted therapy for substance use disorders; (i.e., anti-craving medications, and Opiate Replacement Therapies). Addiction Medicine Clinic also offers brief support, referral for individuals not currently connected to addiction recovery services and resources, as well as case management.

Significant Others program offers counselling and support for family members who feel they are affected by someone's substance use.
