The Algoma East Counselling Service provides individuals, couples and families with assessment and counselling services for a range of psycho-social problems.
Shared care model with family physician.

The Eating Disorders program is part of the Regional Eating Disorders Program (REDP), a community-based outpatient assessment and treatment program. Services are offered to children, adolescents and adults (along with their families) suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder and mixed syndromes.

Provides psychiatric assessment, consultation and brief follow-up treatment for patients with urgent mental health needs.

The Transitional Care program provides individual and group programming to individuals who require support and education regarding their mental illness and to provide seamless and timely transition from inpatient to community-based care.
Services provided include assessment, psychoeducation, supportive counselling, life skill development as well as healthy lifestyle programming and a sheltered transitional employment opportunity.

The Concurrent Disorders program provides assessment, referral, brief intervention, and discharge planning to hospital patients who have co-occurring mental health and addiction issues.

This program provides prompt assessment and comprehensive phase specific medical and psychosocial treatment for individuals experiencing psychosis, who have not been treated in the past.
The patient and family needs, and the state of the illness, guide the intensity of the treatment.

The Addiction Medicine Consult Team is designed to:
- provide consultation and expert advice in treating substance use
- improve patient insight and readiness to change
- give support for substance use, withdrawal, maintenance and replacement therapies
The team will meet with people throughout the hospital (Emergency Department, Inpatient units, and Withdrawal Management)

The Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) program provides support for older adults presenting with (or at risk of developing) responsive behaviours, and their care partners.
Individuals are supported where they reside, wherever that may be.
Treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary team, including registered nurses, care of the elderly physicians, and additional elderly care support services. Access to a geriatric psychiatrist can be arranged through a care provider referral if required.

Mobile Crisis Response is a team of crisis workers who provide support in low-risk situations to individuals in need and who are willing to meet and speak with the team in mutually agreed-upon community locations (i.e., home or a coffee shop).
The team will arrive in an unmarked vehicle and in plain clothes.

Crisis Services is a team of social workers, psychiatric nurses, and mental health workers, who provide high-quality crisis services to all residents of Algoma District who are experiencing a serious illness or are in a crisis.
Service is available either by telephone or face-to-face.
