Focus: Mental Health
Brief therapeutic practices as well as long-term counselling for a wide range of issues including: mood disorders, depression, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, grief and loss, stress, gender issues and physical and sexual abuse.
Treatment groups are offered for anxiety and mood disorders. Social workers are part of the hospital integrated social work service and will accept referrals during daily rounds.
Telephone counselling can be provided if necessary.

The program is designed to support individuals experiencing a serious mental illness and enhance their capacity to complete daily activities and tasks.
We offer outreach support in the home and community. We also offer a structured day treatment program which is skill-based.

The Choice's program model targets the primary social and psychological factors that lead youth to engage in substance use and other risk-taking behaviors.
The program objectives are:
- improve participant's goal-setting, self-control, decision-making and problem solving skills
- improve participant communication skills
- improve participant's skills to resist social and peer pressures to use substances and engage in other behaviors
- enhance participants understanding of personal responsibility within their family, community and society
- enhance participant's ability to safety and effectively cope with stress, fear and anxiety
- enhance participants' self-respect and self-confidence.

This program is intended to provide housing subsidies for persons with: substance use issues, concurrent disorders, on methadone maintenance treatment, in finding safe, secure housing in the community.

THis program provides education and awareness about gambling, and prevention.
We provide counselling and treatment for people who feel their gambling is creating problems in their lives. We also provide support for family members affected by a loved one's gambling, and relapse prevention support.

MODEL is a community-based addictions outreach treatment program for women.
Services are based on a harm reduction approach that recognizes abstinence to reducing substance use as success and are responsive to the relapsing nature of addictions. This program provides practical help and supports women in a respectful, flexible, and culturally appropriate manner to meet their individual needs. Women who are concerned about their substance use and are worried about how it is affecting them, including issues such as hepatitis C and/or HIV, their family, and/or their children can access this service. Social workers are part of the hospital integrated social work service and will accept referrals during daily rounds.

This program offers support to pregnant women, women and men parenting children under the age of six, who have substance use issues.
